INDUSTRY FEEDBACK

MANISH MALHOTRA
(Bollywood fashion designer)

“Very interesting work, lovely fabrics, how much meters of fabric can you get me? Keep it up”

SHANTANU AND NIKHIL
(Fashion designers)

“Nice work, keep it up”

GAURAV
(Fashion stylist at ITC, Pearl Alumni)

“The work is eye catchy but needs to think about retailing and promotions if you want to start up your own brand because it is very important to create a market where you can sell your product. Also can experiment with new prints and colors rather than blue and red.”

MIMI SPHMIDT
(H.O.D interior and styling, Pearl Academy)

“Really impressive work, love the way how traditional meets modernism. Design development in the field of crafts is really inspiring and beautiful, should keep up the good work and start working on the idea of opening your own label.”

MARKET ANALYSIS 1

35 people were interviewed and the following data was collected

MARKET ANALYSIS 2
(for Rajput community people)

from the overall analysis it was clear that people are ready to experiment with traditional crafts. Even the Rajput community seems to be quite adaptable to the change in silhouette and surface ornamentation.I was happy that i got very good response from the industry and the designs are accepted on local as well as global platform.

A visit to Barmer

For my Individual Research Project I developed the surface of my collection through Ajrak printing which is done in areas of Ajrakpur, Kutchch and Barmer, Rajasthan. Ajar is the untrained spirit of craftsmanship which is untouched by this chemically driven world today. It is a 100% naturally dyed process which takes the help of this beautiful nature to acquire its beauty. It takes minimum of 20-25 days to print traditional Ajrak fabric.
Soo, to study the process I wen to Badmer of which I am sharing few memories with you.
